Desert Tech Fieldcraft & Survival - 3-day format for outdoorsmanship – Utah

Material Covered

  • Stalking - Use of camouflage and shooting from concealment is taught by school trained military snipers.  Useful for hunters and those deploying and just an overall good time
  • Survival - We teach everything from basic medical and starting fires to building rope bridges and picking locks
  • Land Navigation - Learn how to navigate with a map and compass, day or night without GPS.  It is a skill everyone should have
  • *Rifle is not required for this course, but recommended for stalking portion

Gear List


  • Notepad, pens, pencils, and sharpie
  • Eye and ear protection (electronic are best)
  • Range clothing for all weather types
  • Bag to carry equipment and shoot off of
  • Lensatic compass or similar
  • Map protractor and fine point map pens (Lumocolor permanent with alcohol pen)
  • Camo face paint
  • GPS (for back up)
  • Headlamp and handheld light (min 60 Lumens)
  • Pocket Knife or multi-tool
  • Sleeping bag or poncho liner


  • Shooting mat
  • Bi-pods for rifle
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves
  • Tripod with shooting rest (such as HOG Saddle)
  • Laser range finder capable of at least 1000 yards
  • Flip flops for cabin (if you are staying on site)
  • Kestrel or similar device capable of getting atmospherics (we can provide if needed)
  • Thumb/flash drive for transferring pictures or media
  • Knee pads and elbow pads
  • Binos or spotting scope
  • Camelbak or water bottle
  • Ghillie Suite
  • Spray paint (flat camo colors)
  • Rifle capable of 1 MOA accuracy (1” group at 100 yards)
  • 2 or more magazines if applicable
  • Rifle Scope with at least 10x magnification
  • 60 (minimum) rounds of match rifle ammunition
  • Adjustable rifle sling
  • Bubble level for rifle scope
  • Tools and cleaning equipment to work on your rifle and equipment
  • Ballistic App on cell phone (you can download it when you get to course if you are unsure what is right for you)

Important information

If you choose to pay only the deposit at check out, you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance via email. Tuition, food, lodging, rentals and any other elected fees are due 5 weeks prior to the course.

Great time and effort is made to ensure we have enough professional trainers (4-1 student to trainer ratio) brought in from various locations around the country to give you the best learning opportunity available. Therefore, a deposit is required for all courses.

Deliberate Dynamics has the right to cancel any course up to 30 days prior to the course start date. Therefore, please avoid making any travel arrangements prior to 30 days from the course. In the event Deliberate Dynamics has to cancel the course the student will receive a full refund for the tuition or the option to transfer the tuition to another class.

If a cancellation by the student occurs up to three weeks prior to the training course, you will receive a credit towards another training.

If a cancellation by the student occurs within three weeks of training date, the deposit paid will be lost to accommodate arrangements Deliberate Dynamics’ has made to pay our professional trainers to travel to the training facility.

Emergency cancellations will be handled on a case by case basis. Please contact us.

If you are traveling to the course and would like to have your gear and ammo shipped to Deliberate Dynamics, please contact us to make arrangements.
